What was the highlight of Santos Hotel
Pleasant, decent stay for a 5D4N trip with easy access to many hot tourism spots.
1. Location of the hotel was good within walking distance from the MRT station & had bus station which was nearer than the MRT Station. Ningxia Night Market was about 15-20 mins walk from the hotel. 2. We really liked it when they provided 4 bottles of water daily which helped us to stay hydrated after a tiring day of exploring the city.
1. The beds definitely need a change. We felt the bed coils & it gave us really bad backaches every single night during our 5D4N stay. 2. First 2 nights, the occupants of the hotel rooms next door (a group of boys on tour i supposed) were extremely noisy, running along the corridors, banging on their friends doors even up till 2am in the AM.

Budget, vintage hotel that has convenient access to the Taipei metro
The location is pretty good for Taipei (metro/transit) and it's close to several night markets. The bathroom and bedrooms are well maintained by cleaning staff.
It is an OLD hotel and has that humid/old smell. They run air purifiers at every floor but we still had to buy scent spray to make the stay tolerable. It doesn't have any particular special places within a 5 min walk.
